Good morning lovelies. A dear friend of mine shared a poem with me this morning that resonated with me. I love how poems can speak to the parts of us that we just can’t put into words. A lighthouse to the soul.
Poetry is such a spiritual and reflective experience that connects us to each other because it speaks to the humanity in all of us.
For me, it gives you moments of pause to give thought to the internal musings we don’t often get to give attention to. It’s like letters from the soul that are waiting to be opened if we just take time to go inward and get silent enough to open up to us.
Take a moment to read it. Maybe you can find yourself in the words that connect you to a moment in your life that needed to hear it.

Last Night As I Was Sleeping
by Antonio Machado
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that a spring was breaking
out in my heart.
I said: Along which secret aqueduct,
Oh water, are you coming to me,
water of a new life
that I have never drunk?
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures.
Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that a fiery sun was giving
light inside my heart.
It was fiery because I felt
warmth as from a hearth,
and sun because it gave light
and brought tears to my eyes.
Last night as I slept,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that it was God I had
here inside my heart.
