Every drop we pour, every moment we give, every boundary we let up, every experience we let in, and every emotion we let out requires energy. Your energy carries a precious price tag. As you pour yourself into your daily tasks, responsibilities, and relationships, do you pause to witness how your energy is used, dispersed, and sometimes, depleted? It’s like the oil in your car – invisible until that warning light blinks, signaling, “Danger Will Robinson!” – you’re almost running on empty! So, FILL’er UP, because if you keep pushing, thinking you can go a little further, eventually, your engine will seize up. And then, you’ll have to expend what little energy and resources you have left to get going again. Trust me, it’s costly! Have you ever found yourself on the brink of burnout? If you’re anything like me, you might have neglected checking your oil, ensuring your tank was full. I once ran a car right into the ground because I failed to care and pay attention. Like the Tinman in The Wizard of Oz, who needed constant oiling to function, our bodies, souls, and spirits require intentional care. And they will give us warning signs. What are yours? Perhaps you’re more irritable, impatient, or prone to meltdowns. Maybe you’re feeling unmotivated, sad, or simply exhausted. I understand. I’ve been there countless times. But over time, I’ve learned to check my “oil” regularly, to replenish with daily practices like meditation, prayer, journaling, and gratitude. And miraculously, my tank overflows, allowing me to continue the cycle of pouring into, giving into, letting up, letting in, letting out, and letting go. So, what are you doing to fill up your tank and avoid seizing up? Love, S
