About Momtemplative

My name is Sherry Taveras, and I am 55 years old, married to my soulmate for 22 years with four beautiful, strong-minded children. I was born in Omaha, Nebraska, referring to myself as a corn fed individual, an air force brat and seeker of the magical and mystical and the meaning of life. Every time I think I get it right, it changes. I love to read, write, and binge Netflix series, especially when I want to escape from the realities of the world we are currently living in. I am an introvert with extrovert tendencies.

I can dip into both when needed but prefer to curl up on my bed with my nose in one of my many half-read books. (I get so excited to read the next one I am always almost done with the previous one) I am addicted to apps like Marco polo that keep me connected to my dearest circle of friends I deem my soul sisters where we “dump” our deepest and most personal thoughts and feelings back and forth to one another knowing that we are safe because we get it. We understand each other. We trust each other. We see each other. We listen, and we hear each other. We cry with each other and for each other. We laugh together and give thought to each other’s musings. And so on and so on and so on. And this is a rare thing. To have a safe space with a group of women where you can entrust your deepest longings, craziest thoughts and personal dreams, drama free and all the while feeling secure with no judgment, no fixing, and no criticism—just support, encouragement and where you feel seen and heard.

And then I had that Oprah Winfrey “AHA” moment, (Love you OPRAH!) and thought, I wonder how many women out there wish they had something like this of which to be a part. And that is how Momtemplative was born. I want to hear you, see you and support you. And hopefully attract women from all seasons in there lives to Momtemplative.

I invite you all whether you are a mom, daughter, sister, grandma, great-grandma, married, single, widowed, or empty nester, to contemplate and transform into the most beautiful, authentic version you envision yourself to becoming. I see you. I hear you, and I’m listening. Welcome to Momtemplative.
