Being back home brings up a lot of mixed emotions. It is definitely a homecoming to self in so many ways. Sometimes ghosts visit you reminding you of those moments in time that you left behind that need to be acknowledged. Conversations being had that never were had before. Family can be complicated and beautiful when there is openness and acknowledgement of each others individual lived experiences within the family dynamic. More of an understanding of how each of us were shaped and formed of the parts unseen while growing up. It is a process. And I am fully embracing every moment, the good and the hard. No matter what, those smiles are real, and I am truly grateful to be home with the Bakers. Love S
